In this interview, Bianca and Chiara spoke about their career journey, the highs and the lows of their journey in the entertainment industry, roles that they played, their inspirations, dream projects and more.

Hi Bianca and Chiara! Tell us a bit about yourself.

Bianca: I am Bianca D’Ambrosio and I am an actress /producer who has been in the

entertainment industry for over 13 years. My identical twin sister and I not only act, but we write

and direct short films as well. I am an avid reader and have a book club called B&C Book Club

where we interview authors every month and hold giveaways for the selected novel.

Additionally, I am a huge animal lover and aspire to own and operate a rescue animal sanctuary

when I grow up. My love for film and entertainment has led me to study at UC Berkeley film and

law.

Chiara: I am Chiara D’Ambrosio, and I have been in the entertainment industry since I was

three years old, with my first role being “Young Summer Newman” on the “Young and the

Restless”. Ever since, I have loved every part of filmmaking, and now I am studying to be a

screenwriter at the University of Southern California, School of Cinematic Arts.

Tell us more about your characters in your respective shows? What drew you to the role?

Bianca: In the movie “Call Jane”, I play Erin, who is Kate Mara’s daughter. Erin knows what she

wants and is not afraid to speak her mind. One of the most important parts of “Call Jane” is how

female empowerment driven this film is. I am honored to be a part of a project that not only

touches upon an important subject matter, womens right to abortion, but does so respectfully.

Chiara: In the movie “High Heat”, I play Kaitlyn alongside my twin sister, Bianca, Olga

Kuryenko, Don Johnson, and Chris Diamantopoulos. Kaitlyn is an uptight, internet obsessed girl

who shares her distaste of the world her parents thrive in with her identical twin sister. I cannot

wait for people to see this action packed comedy this December. In addition this fall, I will be in

Season 7 of THE BAY and the spin off series yA.

How would you describe the show you’re in?

Chiara: The Bay and yA are shows built with lots of drama, romance, and mysteries involving

Bay City’s notorious family and friends. The spinoff follows Regan and Frankie Sanders played

by Bianca and I who end up facing their own set of problems due to our past and adulthood.

What’s the most challenging part of doing this role?

Bianca: I think the most challenging part of playing Frankie is that she is not very welcoming to

all the changes in her life. When you watch yA , you will see how she has to handle a very

dramatic tragic event.

Chiara: I think the most challenging part of playing Regan is how complex she is. Gregori J.

Martin, director and writer of The Bay and yA, keeps developing the character with each

season, to challenge me and my acting. Because of him, not only is my character growing, but I

can also grow my performance skills.

How did you rise above these challenges?

Bianca: Shooting some of these episodes was very emotional . I would make sure to give

myself time to get out of that emotional state after scenes by watching a comedy or one of my

favorite comedy movies

Chiara: I overcame the challenges of playing Regan by staying focused and grounded, and

understanding her motivations.

What’s the proudest moment of your career so far?

Bianca: Seeing my mom and dad’s reactions to my Emmy nomination. That memory is

priceless.

Chiara: Last July, I was nominated and won for Outstanding Younger Performer In A Daytime

Fiction Program for my role as Regan Sanders in The Bay. There are no words to describe this

monumental moment in my career and in life. I am beyond grateful for the team behind The Bay that made this possible, The Academy and my own team.

What inspires you?

Bianca: My mom and dad. They have sacrificed so much to help me go for my dreams. I owe

everything in my life to them.

Chiara: My parents are my inspirations in both my art and my life. They are the ones who

encouraged me to follow my dreams as both an actress and a writer. Without them, I would not

be the person I am today.

What scares you?

Bianca: Spiders! I am not a fan of bugs.

Chiara: Snakes and squirrels! It’s a long story.

Guilty pleasure?

Bianca: Chocolate covered pretzels. They are the best.

Chiara: Definitely reading. I love the feeling of curling up with a blanket and starting a new

novel.

Name your top 5 favorite films of all time

Bianca: Ooo this is a great question! I would say my top five would be The Greatest Showman,

Instant Family, The Hating Game, How to Lose A Guy In 10 Days, CODA, Palm Springs.

Chiara: I would have to say, 10 Things I Hate About You, CODA, The Greatest Showman, Pride

and Prejudice 2005, and How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days.

Last song that got stuck in your head

Bianca: Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush.

Chiara: 21 by Gracie Abrams

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

Bianca: You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take by Wayne Gretzky.

Chiara: Our dad has always said to us that “nothing in life that's hard is easy”, and it has always

stuck with me.

What’s your ultimate goal?

Bianca: To be working fulltime as a film and television director.

Chiara: To create a more female inclusive Hollywood.

What are your dream projects?

Bianca: I would love to direct a horror film!

Chiara: I would love to write a show like Stranger Things and Killing Eve. Shows about the

supernatural have always piqued my interest, but since watching Killing Eve, I would also love

to write a female driven action show.

Is there a skill / talent that a lot of people don’t know about you?

Bianca: I play the piano, guitar, and the drums.

Chiara: I am actually quite the speedy reader and have read over 150 books last year
