ALBUM REVIEW: CITY GIRLS' 'RAW': SOME UNFILTERED REAL A** SH*T

City Girls are back with their latest project, "RAW," and they're not holding back. JT and Yung Miami continue to be the voice of city girls and boys, bringing together an album THAT’S real as f**k.

Their lyrics are explicit and in-your-face, perfectly matched with high-energy, hard-hitting beats. It's true, some tracks might feel a bit too raw for some listeners, but if you give it a shot, you'll find a unique style worth exploring.

My personal favorite track is "Emotions." Muni Long's chorus is a standout, backed by a smooth yet booming R&B beat. JT and Yung Miami deliver verses that are relatable and honest. While Yung Miami's singing part might not be everyone's cup of tea, they manage to leave their mark without overshadowing Muni Long's contribution.

The album features some notable collaborations. Lil Durk goes all out on "Static," and Usher shines on "Good Love." Usher's chorus, while slightly reminiscent of the 2000s, is filled with passion and an infectious melody. City Girls stay true to their raw and ratchet style, making "Good Love" a track that can appeal to a wide audience.

In their song "Flashy," the City Girls present a refreshing collaboration with the Grammy-winning pop star Kim Petras, marking their first joint effort. They maintain their role as the ultimate alter-egos for city girls and boys everywhere, often expressing thoughts that many want to voice but are hesitant to say.

"Wigs" is all about embracing the power of wigs and how they can attract attention. While the theme might sound somewhat cheesy, the girls deliver it with confidence, and the beat accompanying the track is one of the album's best.

City Girls may bring some explicit content, but it's essential not to get too fixated on that. "RAW" showcases that they definitely know how to get a party started. Their music is undeniably captivating, and they have a way of dominating tracks that's hard to ignore. Give it a chance, and you'll find that their distinctive style is something worth exploring. City Girls are unapologetically real, and "RAW" is a testament to their authenticity.
