Tell us your story in a nutshell. Who is Aaron Pierre?
My name is Aaron Pierre, I grew up in South London, Family and Friends, books, music, sports, home cooked meals are my favourite, cake addict!
Tell us more about your character, Dev-Em for those who haven’t seen Krypton.
I play the character Dev-Em. Dev is a commander in the military guild. We first meet him in the context of his occupation. Regimented; an unwavering determination to accomplish and get the job done. However, as the series progresses we discover who Dev is outside the context of his duties. There we meet the real Dev. A meticulous over-thinker who is constantly wrestling with their moral compass.
Are you anything like your character?
Dev-Em can over-think at times. So do I. A lot, ha!
Is there anything that you’re allowed to share with us on what we can expect to see in season 2?
I can’t say much but this season we continue to delve further into this extraordinary planet and the beings that inhabit it. Season 2 is wild - I can’t wait for people to see it!
What kind of training and preparation do you usually do for the show?
I prepared by reading comics, watching films/interviews relating to Superman and his home planet Krypton. These things hugely assisted in discovering who my character is. I also did large amounts of physical training, lead by the incredible stunt teams. They pushed us all beyond where we thought our capabilities were.
Are you a big superhero fan yourself?
Yes, I have been a fan of Superman and comics for a long time. I have always enjoyed immersing myself in the stories and investing in the characters, their beliefs, their inhabitance. I love this genre of storytelling. The first comic I owned was “JLA Avengers” released in 2004, I still have it!
If you are not filming and acting what keeps you busy?
I enjoy going to the gym, reading, making music, writing and spending time with family and friends.
If you’re a book, what kind of book would you be and why?
I love to travel so maybe a travel book, ha!
