Tell us about your story. Who is Spencer Sutherland?

Hey guys! My name is Spencer and my passion is singing! I've sang my whole life, ever since I can remember, and I love to make people happy. I started singing in little hole in the wall restaurants in high school and now I'm lucky enough to be touring! So crazy. Also, my fans mean everything to me!

Where are you originally from? Tell us about your hometown.
I'm from the suburban midwest town of Pickerington, Ohio! It's about 20 minutes away from Columbus, Ohio. Usually people from my town graduate high school, go to college and get married right away, so as you can see, I did the opposite haha. Although I took my own path, EVERYONE in the town has been SO SO SO supportive! I'm very happy to have grown up in such a loving place.

Did you come from a family of musicians?

Not really. My Dad used to play in garage bands here and there, but that's about it. I think my intense love of music came from my Dad playing all different kinds of music my whole life.

When did you start singing?

I don't even remember. It was just always there!

Do you remember your first paid gig as a musical artist? How was it?

Yes! If food counts as payment. I played at a mexican restaurant when I was 17 and got paid in a free meal :)

How would you describe your style of music?

I would say a unique blend of Pop / RnB and soul. It’s also very vocal driven!

Who are your musical influences?

Elvis, Bruno Mars, Marvin Gaye, Boyz II Men, Stevie Wonder, MJ, and Backstreet Boys!

If you can have a dinner with any legendary musician (dead or alive) who would it be and why?

Elvis. I worship him and I would have so many questions on life and everything else! He was such a pioneer - a performer, actor, and more - a true triple threat.

What would be the first question that you would ask this person?

"What was it like being Elvis?"

What do you think is the proudest moment in your career so far?

I've been lucky enough to have my song on a few radio stations! My new singe "Selfish" is being played on the radio and a handful of retailers. The proudest moment has been my mom sending videos of her hearing it on the air, or my friends texting me about my music video being on at their gym :) And making Top 5 for iHeart Radio/Macy's Rising Star Competition! I had always heard about it and it's unbelievable to now be part of it--Crazy!

What is your dream project?

A collection of songs that I'm proud of that make people FEEL!

What sets you apart from other artists?

I think my vocal tone and range sets me apart. Also my live performance,  I pride myself on my delivering with my vocals. Also,  the love and appreciation I have for every single fan.

What makes Spencer Sutherland unique?

I think that I have a collection of things (vocals and personality) that make me SO UNIQUE! I love just being myself. I think being authentic is so important. I don't pretend to be anyone else, and I think the industry is filled with a lot of people that try to be other people.

Top 3 songs on your playlist right now.

"Thats What I Like" - Bruno Mars
"Feels" - Calvin Harris
"Call Me" - Neiked

Any advice you can give to any upcoming artists/singers out there?

Push yourself to constantly get better, learn more and to BE PERSISTENT AND DON'T GIVE UP! Everyone can make it, and the only reason that you won't make it is if you give up - Plain and simple! It's inevitable!

How was it being an artist and a model at the same time?

Not as hard as you'd think! FORD Models has been so dope to me and very flexible with my music career, because music comes first!

How do you balance your time?

I wake up early everyday :)

Book you’re currently reading.

None actually, I'm a podcast guy, and that podcast is "The Joe Rogan Experience."

Currently binge watching________.

Just finished "Big Little Lies" SO DOPE!

If you were going to have a book, what title would it be?

"Don't take life too seriously, none of us make it out alive."

If you will be given the chance and opportunity to help a specific charity, what would it be and why?

I'm so lucky that I've found a charity I'm so passionate about! An AMAZING charity called "City of Hope" in support of cancer treatment and research. It holds a dear place in my heart!

THANKS YALL! Appreciate you!
