Who is Dylan? If you can describe yourself to us with your favorite song, which one would it be and why?
Dylan is a Canadian born big brother in a family of five, he's an actor, film maker, hockey player, and he loves camping. He tries to smile more often than he frowns, he finds humour in as much as he can and he loves to create art. If I had to describe myself using one song I would direct people to Baz Lurmans "Everybody's Free to Wear Sunscreen" if you haven't heard it already that's my gift to you.
Where are you originally from?
I was born in Fort St. James British Columbia a small town in British Columbia Canada on a big Lake.
When and how did acting start for you? Do you remember your first audition?
I've always been kind of a big kid, I hope I never really grow up so I guess I started acting as a kid playing Power Rangers with my two brothers. "Officially" I started acting when I turned 19 and left Junior Hockey, moved to Vancouver BC and started working as a set production assistant on "The Secrete Circle" a CW show. I studied acting in Vancouver and Los Angeles when I wasn't on set. My friend introduced me to his agent and the rest is history... My first audition is a blank memory, there was a green X on the floor where to stand, people behind a couch and words on paper. I think it was for Vampire Diaries, I didn't get the job.
What inspires you?
Nature. My friends. My Family. Music. Being in nature with my family and friends listening to music.
Where do you draw your acting education from?
From my day to day life. I enjoy maneuvering through human interactions working to understand how best to play my role in the lives of people important to me. There are tactics I use in the work I've learned from studying under amazing teachers and mentors that help me to understand characters and their places in story, however, I believe watching great performers and observing people are essential in day to day growth as a person and an actor.
Tell us about your character Gil at Descendants 2. How was it playing the character?
Gil was so fun to play. He's the son of Gaston from Beauty and The Beast and an addition to the New Pirate gang Disney has introduced into the Descendants world. Playing in my first musical feature was such a fun challenge. It's what I love to do and I look forward to doing more.
What’s the most memorable role that you played so far?
Playing Gil is an extension of my childhood, bringing that character to life was an expierence I will not soon forget. In the same breath working on Letterkenny playing Reilly is an opportunity to work with some of my best friends on a daily basis. Comedy is where my passion is. For that reason I want to submit two picks...
What keeps you busy aside from acting?
I love playing hockey still when I have the chance to. Traveling has always been an important part of my life and I love to dive when I'm in parts of the world if it's possible. This world is so big yet so small and I intend to see as much of it as I can.
How do you balance your time?
I do my best to designate blocks of the day to one task at a time. A mentor of mine who was highly successful in film, business and life once told me when I asked him the same question to block out time for each endeavour important to you and when you're engaged in that task or activity focus only on that one thing. When your time is done set it down and come back to it when you have time again. I believe mental health is vital to good work and I consciously work to balance mind body and work. I love my work however so it's easy to balance in my opinion.
Mind sharing us your secret I having beautiful and healthy hair?
Honestly, I got it from my momma! Haha, I am lucky she has great hair. However if you asked her she would say Avacados and omega 3-6-9 oils...and I always listen to Mom. You should too.

Any advice you can give to young and aspiring actors out there?
If you love what you do you will never work a day in your life. Do it cause you love it and you'll do it forever.
If you’re going to have your own book, what title would you give it?
Life Worth Living
If you will be given the chance to help a specific cause/charity, what would it be?
The Boys Club Network - a charity I've worked with that mentors young men in Vacouver Canada
